The beta of Battlefield 2042 was not particularly positive due to the many mistakes. It showed the essence of what we can expect from 2042, but it certainly needed a lot of work - and it seems that DICE had a lot to do.
Today, the studio has released a huge blog post outlined the most important changes in front of the release date of Battlefield 2042 next month. These rich of brand new features that were completely missing in the beta, to improvements based on the feedback of the players. There are many changes in the blog, but here are some of the most important.
Dice says that both players had some serious server problems during the beta, which were placed by servers in different regions placed up to their own or in bot-lobbies. The developer says he has worked through the beta to improve this, and continues to work until the start that the servers and the bot assignment work as intended.
Another big thing is the plus weapon fixing system that allows you to adjust the fasteners of your weapon in no time. The players were frustrated that their preferred attachment combination has been reset to the standard between games and they could not change the order of attachments in the menu itself. But that seems to change.
There are several slots per attachment type, which you can assign different items that come from a comprehensive pool of weapons-specific essays that are unlocked when you play more with the weapons, says Dice. Everything that is assigned to Slot 1, which are closest to the center [OF THE PLUS MENU], is your effective spawn setup. When you use the weapon in your hand, you will always be prepared with your preferred [slot 1] attachments.
For more UI-based changes, a number of optimizations are made to the heads-up display to improve clarity. It sounds like the user interface added further information points - including a full size card that you can call to display the entire battlefield.
Our user interface in the Open Beta was not completely representative of the final experience, says Dice. There were some essential components that we have deactivated some of them to remove weakening (and now fixed) mistakes, and of whom we decided to continue to focus on the work for the introduction.
Although the Big Map will be a welcome supplement, DICE can not guarantee that you are ready for use at startup, the players will inform you when they can see them.
In addition, the general improvements include a grenade display, changes in motion (including penalty sliding and a Nerf for bunny hopping), improvements in ping effectiveness, complete key assignment for controller players and the ability to send cross-platform invitations to friends thanks to Battlefield 2042 Cross-play you can use other hardware than your own.
These are the headline changes, but shortly, await that the full version of the game is a very different experience than the ones you had during the beta.
